How much do ads cost?
It is Free to post ads to Buy And Sell.ca for up to 30 Days. We do charge
to extend that time or add features to
your posting such as posting a
featured ad. You will never be charged
for a service you did not order.
Where will my ad appear?
We will show your ad on our website
www.buyandsell.ca 24 hours a day for the
period you have chosen. Our site is
fully searched and indexed by the top
internet search engines. We supply our
data base of ads to over 80,000
other websites. We do not control how
many will show the ads or the
duration which they appear on those
sites. We have RSS feeds which allow
us to offer our data base with even
more websites and blogs! All of this
helps to ensure your getting the best
exposure possible for your items for sale!
How do I add Video to my ad?
Our site allows you to post video from
YouTube.com (Free). This is
excellent to make your ad stand out and
show people your item; You need
to go to http://www.youtube.com sign up
for an account and follow their up
loading instructions for your video.
When you have done this you will see
a code called “embed” you
need to cut and paste this code into the space
provided during the ad posting process.
I can't find the link to create an ad?
How do I post an ad?
On the left side of page look for
“Create an ad” click on those words and
you will be setting up an ad in no
time.
I created my ad, but it doesn't show up
in the classified ads section.
Give the system a few minutes to review
the content and post the ad to the
site. All ads need to be reviewed for
appropriate content, so your ad may
not have been reviewed yet. Also, if
you purchased extras for your ad like
feature status these require a payment
before they become active, this can
add sometime to the processing.
Why do you only have Canadian ads?
With a site called Buy And Sell.ca you
have to be focused! We found that
so many sites try to be too many
things, lose focus, reduce their value
and waste your time! Canadian ads are all we
do and we have a couple of US ads also.
Are their Scams on this site?
The internet is an open and free
marketplace - the problem with an open
and free marketplace are a very small
number of people will try and make a
living off pulling scams.
Most scams involve either party sending
money and then requesting the
other party to return part of the over
payment. Do not fall for scams –
this site is designed so you make
contact with a property owner or a
potential purchaser and then meet to see
the item/property and conduct your
business in person. If you take
payments over the internet be careful and
we only recommend using

To avoid most scams deal in person.
If you even think an ad on our site is
a scam, please send us a message
using the contact form and we will
remove it. Report all scams by contact
your local Police department and/or the
RCMP at this address.

How do I post the best ad?
Excellent question! The internet is all
about someone finding your ad. Now
if you read the above Q/A about where
the ad is posted you know that the
ad will be exposed to many people on
many different sites. So let’s post
the best ad we can.
Step # 1 Sign up for the site –
You do not need to provide much
information, it’s free and it
takes less then 5 minutes. Members can post
better ads and make changes to those
ads.
Step # 2 The Right Category and Area –
if you do not post to the right
place the wrong people will be viewing
your ad – make sure you have the
right area and category!
Step # 3 The Title - This can make or
break your ad – make sure you tell
them what’s for rent. “One
Bedroom Apartment in Abbotsford $1250.00” The
title will be helpful for the search
engines to find it. The big search
engines like Google, MSN, Yahoo etc.
and the search engines on the
websites use title lines to find and
index an ad.
Step # 4. The Description – Now
this is the short description but you can
still add a little more detail here. Is
it a large building with lots of
extras like a pool or a small family
building? Is the vacation property on
the water or is the office building
near the subway or bus line. So add
everything you had in the title line
with just some more detail here.
Step # 5 Long Description - So again
add all the detail from the title
line and the short description but here
also tell them everything you know
about your rental. The more the better
but make sure you remember that a
human will also be reading this so try
and stick with the facts just lots
of them. Tell them what you expect also
like first and last months rent. How new the car is.
How many bedroom and washrooms? It is
near which schools? Do you need them
to sign a contract or post a deposit?
When is it available? New or used.Tell the story of your
item. You have a lot of space
available use it.
Step # 6 URL – If you have a
website you can add a link to it from the ad.
If you have a website link to it and if
possible link back to
www.buyandsell.ca it helps make the site
even more popular.
Step # 7 Name/eMail/Phone - All useful
*note what you share in your ad is
available on the internet for all to
read. We can not stop messages and
emails etc.
Step # 8 Google Maps Address –
People love to view maps and this is how a
map is posted with your ad – You
need to use Street Names, City, Province
and Postal Code – very helpful –
highly recommended.
Step # 9 YouTube.com Video – If
you have a video camera or you can get
your hands on one use this – it
is 100% free to post video on the site and
it adds major value to your ad people
can take a tour of your items. Worth every second of your
effort. Check out www.youtube.com
Step # 10 Keywords – These are
words that are related to the item you
have for sale. So the name of the city
it is located. The number of rooms.
Name of the condo, near what land
marks, the city. Example: One bedroom,
Abbotsford, British Columbia, Marshall
Road, Pool, Golden Cross Church,
Sunshine Garden Mall, Hardwood.
Step # 11 Price/Category/Areas –
you know how important these are. Be
clear and make sure you post to the
proper areas.
Step # 12 Pictures – Worth a
thousand words, right? Very right! Click the
“browse” button and search
for the file you keep your pictures in and
click on it. Under the picture post
some words about the picture if it’s
the bathroom – write something
like large bathroom with new sink – this
will appear under the picture when
people view it… so point the value of
what they are looking at. Maybe it’s
the view from the drivers seat. Post three
pictures for free.
Click on the “Submit”
button – if something is incorrect the system will
let you know.
Step #13 Extra Features – While
you do not need to purchase any of these
they do add value to your ad. Here is a
brief review of each of them.
Marked by Bold – This will bold
the title lines of the ad and make it
standout from the other ads.
Highlighted – The entire ad will
be marked to make it standout from the
other listings.
Featured Ad – These ads appear at
the top of the catergory they are post in.
Featured Gallery – These ads
appear on the first page of each area of the
site to increase exposure.
Featured on Home Page – Maximum
exposure for your ad – the ad will appear
on the main page of the site.
Extra 10 Pictures – Need to post
more pictures? 10 More are available.
Duration – While you can post a
basic ad for 30 days for free – you may
want to post for longer – pick
the duration of your ad here.
The price for these extras are clearly
posted below the extra features for
your review and consideration.

– you can use visa and most other
major credit cards to pay for the
services you choose.
